Do You Want It Badly Enough?

by Helen M. Ryan

The secret to losing weight or getting fitter is simply this: You’ve got to want it badly enough. Period.

Instead of eating with abandon every day, ask yourself one little question before you reach for that extra serving: “How badly do I want _____?” (Insert: your goal.)

If you eat more cookies than you should, or skip too many workouts, you’ve learned a valuable truth: You don’t want it badly enough. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Nothing at all.

When you’re ready—when you really want it more than anything else—you’ll succeed. Talk is cheap. Doing takes grit.

Don’t you want it, baby?
